UoN students, staff to pay for meals via eCitizen
The meals will be paid to the online platform through Mpesa Pay Bill Number 222222.
Students and staff of the University of Nairobi have been directed to pay for their meals through the eCitizen platform.
In a memo, the meals from the institution's kitchens will be paid to the online platform through Mpesa Pay Bill Number 222222.

"The Kenyan Government has mandated that all payments to the University of Nairobi be made via the eCitizen platform. Complying with this directive, the University has established the required systems to enable clients to make payments through E-Citizen," reads the memo.
The memo stated that the directive applies to different kitchens in the main campus and other satellite campuses within Nairobi.
The user will have to enter the Outlet/Live identifier in capital letters followed by a hyphen and name (e.g. NUK1-name) as the account number.
The Postal Corporation of Kenya has also urged Kenyans seeking postal services to make payments through the eCitizen platform.
The corporation stated that the move was necessitated by the directive to have all government services on the eCitizen platform.
"Postal Corporation of Kenya wishes to inform our esteemed customers and the public that payments of all Postal Services shall now be made through the eCitizen platform. This follows the Presidential directive to deactivate all existing playbills and onboard all government services on the platform," read the notice.
In addition, Posta said they will give a 20 per cent discount for new address renters.
According to the Kenya Kwanza government, the move to digitise all payments on the platform will increase revenue collection, minimise the cost of collection and enhance service delivery.
In addition, citizens, non-citizens and business entities will access government services online and make payments electronically and conveniently.
President William Ruto said the system will eliminate inefficiency, corruption, wastage and discrimination inherent in human interactions.
He noted that the previously marginalised communities will no longer be excluded from Government services.
